DATA provides a continuum of behavioral health services to children, adolescents and their families experiencing problems with substance use and/or juvenile delinquency. These services include prevention, outreach, TASC case management, intervention, outpatient, Multisystemic Therapy (MST) and residential programming. We are committed to providing programs which foster the skills necessary for individuals to be responsible, productive members of their community.

Residential - DATA operates two adolescent residential substance use treatment centers: Walter D. Kelly Center (West Palm Beach) and Norman C. Hayslip Center (Fort Pierce). Admission is determined in part by meeting placement criteria as defined by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. The program consists of three interrelated components: therapeutic, behavioral, and academic. The therapeutic component consists of participation in evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy that addresses issues identified in the client's collaboratively developed strengths-based treatment plan. The behavioral component consists of a level system that rewards positive behaviors. (continued on Schedule O).Clients must also progress academically by participating in our onsite school provided by local school districts. Successful completion of the program is determined by achieving goals/objectives on their treatment plan, abstinence from substances, and achieving maximum benefit. DATA admitted 67 youth during the fiscal year.

School-Based Programs - DATA provided three different programs in various schools throughout Palm Beach, Martin, Okeechobee, St. Lucie and Indian River counties during the fiscal year. The Prevention program, utilizing the evidence-based Project SUCCESS model, served 650 youth in individual prevention counseling, over 5,630 youth in the prevention education series, and countless others through our monthly campus-wide environmental awareness campaigns. The School-Based Intervention program utilizes the evidence-based Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) and served 686 youth throughout the five-county area. (continued on Schedule O).The School Based Behavioral Health program, which is only offered within the Palm Beach County School District, served 473 youth during the fiscal year utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and other evidence-based programs to address mental health and substance use issues amongst youth.

Outreach Programs - Services are provided through a formal program to both individuals and the community. Community services include education, identification, and linkage with high-risk groups. These services are designed to encourage, educate and engage prospective clients who show an indication of substance use and/or mental health problems or needs. DATA provides outreach services in the public-school system and in other community settings and provided outreach services to approximately 10,000 youth, parents, and community members.
