Other Cultural Engagement and Tourism Programs: The Arts Council identifies, preserves and honors the artistic and cultural traditions the tremendously diverse community Onslow County provides, and works to address the needs of all residents through engagement and citizen-led initiatives. The Arts also create cultural tourism and economic growth for the county. Research shows that cultural tourism supports direct and indirect jobs and contributes to the purchase of local goods and services within the community. Events such as the African American Music Heritage, Art and Soul and Art Block Festivals are part of these programs.
