THE MISSION OF GABLESTAGE IS TO PROVIDE THE SOUTH FLORIDA COMMUNITY WITH CLASSICAL, CONTEMPORARY & NEW THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS OF ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE. WE CHALLENGE OUR MULTICULTURAL AUDIENCE WITH INNOVATIVE PRODUCTIONS THAT ENTERTAIN AS WELL AS EXPLORE TODAY'S ISSUES & IDEAS. BY EMPHASIZING NONTRADITIONAL CASTING & EMPLOYING THE BEST OF OUR LOCAL CREATIVE FORCE, GABLESTAGE ENDEAVORS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF OUR DIVERSE COMMUNITY. GABLESTAGE IS COMMITTED TO THE ENRICHMENT OF THE LOCAL ACTOR,DIRECTOR, DESIGNER & TECHNICIAN BY PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACHIEVE ARTISTIC ACCLAIM IN THIS REGION. GABLESTAGE BELIEVES THE FUTURE OF THEATRE CAN BE ASSURED ONLY BY THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG AUDIENCES. THEREFORE, OUR IN-HOUSE MAINSTAGE & IN-SCHOOL TOURING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS ARE MAJOR COMPONENTS OF OUR THEATRE. FURTHERMORE, GABLESTAGE WELCOMES THE OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT WORTHY CAUSES THROUGH OUR THEATRICAL PRODUCTION BENEFITS & MAKING THE THEATRE AVAILABLE FOR USE TO OTHER CULTURAL/COMMUNITY GROUPS.

IN ITS 26TH SEASON, THE VENERABLE, AWARD-WINNING GABLESTAGE (76 CARBONELL AWARDS, BILL VON MAURER SPECIAL AWARD, 3X MIAMI NEW TIMES-BEST THEATRE COMPANY) SERVES AS A MIAMI CULTURAL CORNERSTONE, PRODUCING THEATRICAL WORKS OF ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE THAT EXPLORE TODAY'S ISSUES AND IDEAS. THIS MILESTONE YEAR SAW 5 PRODUCTIONS ATTRACTING OVER 18,000 PATRONS AND 1,200+ SUBSCRIPTIONS. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS-SHAKESPEARE IN THE SCHOOLS, IGNITE, STUDENT MATINEES, DIARY OF A PRODUCTION, PLAY READINGS, AND PRE/POST-SHOW TALKS-REACHED NEARLY 10,000 MIAMI-DADE COUNTY SCHOOL STUDENTS THROUGH 20+ TEACHING ARTISTS ENGAGING DOZENS OF SCHOOLS. GABLESTAGE HAS BEEN APPROVED TO BECOME THE THEATRE-IN-RESIDENCE AT THE HISTORIC COCONUT GROVE PLAYHOUSE IN CONJUNCTION WITH MIAMI-DADE COUNTY AND FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY.
