THE GAINESVILLE ORCHESTRA IS GAINESVILLE'S ONLY PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA. WE HAVE SEVEN, TYPICALLY SOLD OUT, CONCERTS EACH YEAR. WE ALSO HAVE AN ANNUAL CHILDREN'S CONCERT WHERE WE BUS IN 1,500 AREA SCHOOL CHILDREN TO SEE THEIR FIRST LIVE ORCHESTRA CONCERT. THE ORCHESTRA PERFORMS BY INVITATION IN ST. AUGUSTINE FOR THE PRESTIGOUS EMMA CONCERT SERIES. EVERY YEAR WE HAVE BROADWAY SINGERS WHO PERFORM WITH OUR ORCHESTRA FOR A VERY SPECIAL AUDIENCE EXPERIENCE. AT OUR POPS CONCERT EACH YEAR WE INVITE THE AUDIENCE TO WALK THROUGHOUT THE ORCHESTRA WHILE THEY ARE PERFORMING TO IMMERSE THEMSELVES IN THE PERFORMANCE ON THE STAGE. WE ALSO INVITE PROMINENT LOCAL ARTISTS TO PAINT A PORTRAIT ON STAGE WHILE THE ORCHESTRA PLAYS, COMPLETING THE WORK OF ART BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE IS OVER. DISNEY CHOSE GAINESVILLE ORCHESTRA TO BE THE FIRST ORCHESTRA IN THE WORLD TO PERFORM THE MUSIC FROM "FROZEN," WHICH IS PROOF OF THE HIGH REGARD FOR OUR MAESTRO AND ORCHESTRA.
