THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES THERAPEUTIC RIDING PROGRAMS TO SERVE OVER 176 CHILDREN AND ADULTS, RANGING IN AGE FROM 4 TO 94. THE EQUINE PROGRAM GIVES THE EXPERIENCE TO FOSTER CHILDREN AND AT RISK YOUTH AS WELL. MTRA ALSO SERVES MILITARY AND UNDERSERVED CHILDREN WITH THE CHANCE TO BE INVOLVED IN ACTIVITIES THAT WOULD OTHERWISE BE UNATTAINABLE TO THEM.MARION THERAPEUTIC RIDING ASSOCIATION PROVIDES THERAPEUTIC HORSEBACK RIDING AND EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS LIVING WITH PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND COGNITIVE CHALLENGES IN OUR COMMUNITY. AS AN APPROVED PROVIDER THROUGH SOME HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES, INDIVIDUALS MAY SEE IF OUR SERVICES ARE COVERED THROUGH INSURANCE. SOME PROGRAMMING IS PROVIDED AT NO COST FOR QUALIFIED PARTICIPANTS THROUGH GRANTS AND FUNDRAISING, AND WE NOW OFFER PEER TO PEER FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS THAT MAKES FUNDRAISING FOR A SPECIFIC PERSON EASILY ACCESSIBLE.WE ALSO HAVE A LIMITED NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE ON OCCASION. THE PROGRAM INCOME PROVIDES ONLY 10-15% OF THE FUNDING NEEDED ANNUALLY TO KEEP OUR SERVICES IN PLACE AND TO COVER THE VERY HIGH COSTS OF FEEDING AND MAINTAINING HORSES, MAINTAINING OUR PATH PREMIERE CERTIFIED FACILITY, OVERHEAD COSTS SUCH AS INSURANCE, STAFF AND CERTIFIED PATH INSTRUCTORS. THEREFORE, WE RELY HEAVILY ON THE GENEROSITY OF THE COMMUNITY AND ITS BUSINESSES AND CORPORATIONS THROUGH DONATIONS, GRANTS AND OTHER FUNDING.FOR NEARLY 40 YEARS, MTRA HAS PROVIDED THESE UNIQUE AND VALUABLE SERVICES TO MARION AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES ON A CONTINUOUS BASIS. LOCATED IN THE HEART OF THE HORSE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD, BEAUTIFUL AND TEMPERATE OCALA, FLORIDA, WE STRIVE TO PUT THE SPOTLIGHT ON THESE WONDERFUL ANIMALS WHO KEEP OUR THRIVING COMMUNITY TOGETHER.
