Our organization hosted SERMACS 2025 https : www.sermacs2025. org . This annual scientific conference that advances the organizations educational and charitable mission by providing a forum for the dissemination of chemical knowledge. The conference features peer-reviewed oral and poster presentations technical symposia and professional development workshops for students educators and practicing chemists. SERMACS promotes scientific education fosters collaboration among academic industry and government participants and supports the professional development of undergraduate and graduate students. The event also includes networking opportunities mentoring activities and recognition of outstanding research contributions. Through these activities the conference contributes to the advancement of the chemical sciences and benefits the public by supporting education workforce development and the exchange of scientific information. SERMACS 2025 conference had 1700 registered attendees and included 49 unique symposia.

Our organization conducted community outreach activities in 2025 to promote public understanding of chemistry and its impact on everyday life. These efforts included participation in Earth Day event featuring educational demonstrations and interactive activities focused on environmental stewardship and sustainability. The section also organized and participated in National Chemistry Week activities in partnership with the Orlando Science Center providing hands-on learning experiences and public demonstrations designed to increase interest in chemistry among K-12 students and the general public. These outreach initiatives support the organizations educational mission by enhancing science literacy encouraging student interest in STEM fields and fostering community engagement with the chemical sciences. These outreach activities are organized by volunteers and typically engage several hundred members of the public providing broad community access to educational chemistry demonstrations and science engagement activities.
