Response management ensures that response team members medical equipment and supplies are maintained in response readiness for response missions such as alternate care sites, responder rehabilitation, and to support medical surge in the field and at hospitals. The Coalition supports community events to exercise the regional medical assistance team. During 2024, this included providing first aid stations at the Sanford air show. Purchased decontamination and PPE equipment for new hospitals and replaced expiring equipment at other hospitals. The coalition closed a hazards/vulnerability gap by placing an evacuation cache at the north and south ends of the region. During 2024 the Coalition conducted quarterly community-based drills for all healthcare organizations, including a tornado drill in January, a generator drill in June, an active shooter drill in September, and a mutual aid drill in December. The Coalition facilitated the regional medical surge full scale exercise including more than 70 hospitals across the region, with over 2,000 volunteers supporting the exer
