IN COLLABORATION WITH AREA CHURCHES AND OTHER PUBLIC AND NON-PROFIT ENTITIES, TRAINING WAS PROVIDED ABOUT HOW TO "MUCK OUT" A HOUSE DAMAGED BY MOLD OR WATER INTRUSION, CHAIN SAW SAFETY, DISASTER MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS, DISASTER LEGAL SERVICES AVAILABLE, GENERATOR SAFETY AND USAGE, ROOFING SAFETY, AND ITEMS NEEDED TO ASSEMBLE A DISASTER KIT. A BACKPACK OF ITEMS TO START A DISASTER KIT WERE PROVIDED TO ATTENDEES. OVER 100 PEOPLE ATTENDED THIS HALF DAY EVENT. THIS EVENT WAS FUNDED THROUGH A CAPACITY BUILDING GRANT FROM AMERICAN RED CROSS.
