FORM 990 ORGANIZATION'S MISSION THE KATIE CAPLES FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO INCREASING THE NUMBER OF REGISTERED ORGAN DONORS AND ELIMINATING THE WAIT FOR THOSE ON THE NATIONAL TRANSPLANT WAITING LIST. THE FOUNDATION PURSUES ACHIEVEMENT OF THIS MISSION THROUGH ORGAN DONORS REGISTRATION AWARENESS AND EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS,WICH INFORM AND ENCOURAGE AUDIENCES TO REGISTER TO BECOME AN ORGAN DONOR. PARTNERSHIPS WITH REGIONAL AND NATIONAL HEALTHCARE FACILITIES, UNIVERSITIES, AND NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS HAVE ALLOWED THE FOUNDATION TO EXPAND ISS AWARENESS RAISING CAMPAIGNSAND ORGAN DOAR EDUCATION PROGRAMMING RESULTING IN A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF REGISTERED ORGAN DONORS IN THE AREAS THE FOUNDATION SEVES. ADDITIONALLY, THE FOUNDATION AWARDS ACADEMCI SCHOLARSHIPS TO DESERVING YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE NORTH FLORIDA REGION. THESE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE FUNDED THROUGH PRIVATE DONATIONS AND THE KATIE INVITATIONAL.
