Mission

The American Academy of Neurology (AAN) is the leading voice in brain health. As the world's largest association of neurologists and neuroscience professionals with more than 40,000 members, the AAN offers access to continuing education, essential practice tools, research grants, networking and advocacy opportunities, and more. Our mission is to enhance member career fulfillment and promote brain health for all. A neurologist is a doctor who specializes in the diagnosis, care and treatment of brain, spinal cord and nervous system diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, stroke, concussion, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, headache and migraine. The AAN exists for the benefit of its members, to do the things collectively that would be nearly, if not completely, impossible to do individually. No matter the stage of their career or their role in neurology, our commitment to supporting members' professional growth is evident in all we do throughout the year.
