TUTORING AND EDUCATION SERVICES - We provide an after school program for Latino children in 1st - 6th grade who attend Dayton schools. We work with tutors from neighboring high schools and colleges that assist our Academic Coordinator/assistant to support the educational progress of the children in our program. We incorporated a pilot program with educational software to create individualized learning materials and identify areas of strength and weakness to have tutors work on those specific areas with each child. This structure will help reduce the gap created during the pandemic and has allowed the children to thrive. We partner with Wright State Universitys Education Department to hold an upper-level college class on site each fall semester providing one on one tutoring to a small group of students. We launched a GED program that enrolls both youth and adults who want to complete their high school diploma.

ADDITIONAL COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES - Mental Health Navigator - A phone line dedicated to connect Latino families with mental health services in the area. Mental Health Support Groups - meet twice a month providing a safe, non-judgmental space where people with shared experiences (like illness, grief, or life challenges) can connect, share stories, and offer each other mutual emotional and practical support, reducing isolation and building coping skills through shared wisdom, fostering hope, empowerment, and a sense of community that complements professional treatment. Latino Wellness Clinics - we work with the Latino Medical Student Assoc, Premier Health Partners, Kettering Medical to offer basic medical services for the Latino community. Vision Program - partner with Prevent Blindness to offer free eye exams and glasses for qualifying persons. Dental Hygiene Clinics - we host about 15 hygiene clinics per year to members of our community.
