THE IDEA OF BEING A GOOD SAMARITAN WAS ORIGINALLY PUT INTO PRACTICE BY THE COMMUNITY PASTORS ASSOCIATION IN THE 60'S. IN THE FALL OF 1994, THE HENDERSONVILLE SAMARITAN ASSOCIATION WAS FORMED BY THE COMMUNITY PASTORS ASSOCIATION (CPA). ITS PURPOSE IS TO HELP FAMILIES IN NEED GET THROUGH A CRISIS THAT IS UNUSUAL TO THEIR LIFESTYLE, AND THEN TO ASSIST THEM IN BECOMING SELF-SUFFICIENT. THE CPA SERVES AS THE ADVISORY COUNCIL TO HSA.
