THE NATIONAL EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE, INC.'S (NEA) PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO AID, SUPPORT AND WORK WITH TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY (TVA) & FEMA IN PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AS WELL AS THE CITIZENS OF SUCH GEOGRAPHIC AREAS IN PREPARATION FOR, DURING OR FOLLOWING MAJOR NATURAL DISASTERS OR OTHER FEDERALLY DECLARED EMERGENCIES. UNDER THE FEDERAL RESPONSE PLAN, ALL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE WORKERS AND ASSISTANCE TO FEMA WHENEVER AND WHEREVER A MAJOR DISASTER OR EMERGENCY IS DECLARED. FOR THE REPORTING PERIOD NEA SUPPORTED 15 NATIONALLY DECLARED DISASTERS IN 10 STATES/TERRITORIES. NEA PROVIDES THESE WORKERS AT A COST-EFFECTIVE RATE, THEREBY REDUCING THE BURDEN OF GOVERNMENT. IN ADDITION, NEA SUPPORTS OTHER CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS THAT SHARE THE SAME GOALS OF NEA.
