UNITED WAY HANDS ON OR UWHO PROVIDES ESSENTIAL VOLUNTEER LABOR TO SEVERAL NON-PROFITS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT GREATER BIRMINGHAM; INCLUDING BLOUNT, CHILTON, JEFFERSON, SHELBY, ST. CLAIR AND WALKER COUNTIES. IN 2023, UWHO PROVIDED MORE THAN 3,400 LABOR VOLUNTEERS TO SUPPORT NONPROFIT AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT CENTRAL ALABAMA. PROJECTS CONSISTED OF NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATIONS, PARK REFURBISHMENTS, PAINTING, LANDSCAPING, CONSTRUCTING COMMUNITY GARDENS AND GREENSCAPES, CLEANING CREEKS AND RIVERS, NURTURING CHILDREN, AND SOCIALIZING WITH SENIORS.
