A ROBUST YEAR OF NETWORKING EVENTS OCCURRED IN 2024. THE 401K SKEET AND TRAP SHOOT CONTINUED AS OUR PREMIER EVENT SETTING A RECORD IN REVENUE AND PROFITS. WITH OUR ENDOWMENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI CONSTRUCTION + DESIGN FULLY FUNDED, WE TURNED OUR ATTENTION TO A SIMILAR ENDOWMENT AT MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY WITH A FOURTH-YEAR PAYMENT POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF OUR 401K SKEET AND TRAP SHOOT PROFITS.THE YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (YLP) IS GOING STRONG. THIS PROGRAM WAS DESIGNED FOR CONSTRUCTION PROFESSIONALS UNDER 40 YEARS OF AGE. SO FAR, THAT HAS BEEN THE CASE WITH OVER 50 ACTIVE MEMBERS IN THE YLP. MANY YLP EVENTS OCCURRED IN 2024 INCLUDING BOWLING GET TOGETHERS, SOCIAL DROP-INS AND A VERY SUCCESSFUL GOLF TOURNAMENT AND SKEET SHOOT. A FULL SLATE OF YLP EVENTS IS PLANNED IN 2025. MEMBERSHIP GREW IN 2024 BY 48 MEMBERS. THIS WAS DUE TO OUR BOARD AND STAFF WORKING HARD TO ADD NEW MEMBERS.WE LOST OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR IN JANUARY 2024. LLOYD MUNN, OUR SAFETY DIRECTOR BECAME INTERIM UNTIL APRIL 2024 WHEN HE WAS ANNOUNCED AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR. THERE WERE MANY CHANGES IN 2024 TO STRENGTHEN THE ASSOCIATION AND STREAMLINE RESPONSIBILITIES. WE FEEL THIS IS PUTTING US IN THE BEST POSITION LOOKING FORWARD TO SERVE OUR MEMBERS. IN ADDITION, THE BOARD DECIDED TO RENT THE GULFPORT OFFICE AND NO LONGER HAVE A SALARIED PERSON IN GULFPORT. THIS CHANGE BROUGHT NEEDED INCOME TO THE ASSOCIATION.
