MASE/CWA serviced the employees of the state of Mississippi and the employees of the city of Jackson, MS by providing them with information through quarterly newsletters, monthly fliers, phone calls and social media about their job rights, benefits and other information, including legislation that affects their salaries, health benefits, retirement benefits and educate them on how to be their own lobbyists for their elected representatives so they can be an advocate for their own job rights and benefits. We provide on the job grievance and appeals assistance. Our organizers maintained contact with state employees in all agencies throughout the state and the city workers in Jackson, MS, recruiting and sustaining members; keeping members up-to-date on issues that concern them and their jobs that are being discussed and decided upon by state legislators and-or city council members. Organizers met and assisted with one on one grievance issues and appeals processes. We were a union for and by public workers in Mississippi. We had a proactive approach to educating, organizing and mobilizing present and potential members. We were equipped to be an organized force for achieving equality and justice in the workplace for all Mississippi state employees and city of Jackson employees. APPROX. TOTAL MEMBERS SERVED: 3500
