Mission

Our mission is to provide for the nutritional needs of the poor and needy in our community in the context of compassion and affirmation of their worth as children of GOD. We are humble stewards of other people's generosity and grateful courier of a stranger's kindness. WE have two programs to meet this need in our community thru a daily hot meal soup kitchen and a client choice food pantry.

At Our Daily Bread, we are committed to supporting seniors, families and individuals in need throughout Bradenton. In a community where 44% of households are struggling to meet basic needs. Our cornerstone program is a local soup kitchen that serves a hot, nutritious midday meal from 10:00am till 11:30am every day of the week. In 2025 we served 79,678 meals- a 10% increase from last year. Among the sixty one food organization serving Manatee County, we are listed among the top nine for food access, per the Manatee Food Security Network organization. We are a volunteer-powered organization, proudly operating without any administrative or fundraising expenses. Last year we had 16,249 volunteer hours were generously donated. We have only a small part-time paid staff to operate the kitchen and the food pantry. Rising food costs, as well as transportation and housing costs have contributed to food insecurity in Manatee County. Many families facing hunger are the working poor (ALICE). Our Daily Bread helps them with their basic food needs.
