ALTHOUGH HOUSED ON THE CAMPUS OF THE HORACE MANN SCHOOL WITH ACCESS TO ITS FACILITIES, SOH IS AN INDEPDENDENT 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION THAT RAISES ITS OWN FUNDS TO OPERATE A HIGH-QUALITY PROGRAM. EACH YEAR, MORE THAN 200 FAMILIES OF 2ND GRADERS APPLY FOR ONE OF 40 SEATS. THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS DEMOSTRATES A GREAT UNMET NEED FOR ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS IN OUR TARGET AREAS.
