SINCE 1977, FPH HAS BEEN THE LOCAL PARTNER FOR THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES, THE FEDERAL AGENCY TO WHICH IT IS AFFILIATED AS ONE OF THE OFFICIAL FIFTY-SIX STATE AND JURISDICTIONAL HUMANITIES COUNCILS ACTIVE ACROSS THE UNITED STATES AND ITS TERRITORIES. FPH IS SUPPORTED BY FEDERAL, STATE, AND PRIVATE FUNDS THAT ENABLE US TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO FREE, HIGH- QUALITY CULTURAL PROGRAMS TO DIVERSE AUDIENCES ACROSS THE GEOGRAPHY OF PUERTO RICO. FPH'S WORK MAKES THE HUMANITIES ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE AND COMMUNITIES OF ALL AGES, NEEDS, AND EXPERIENCES THROUGH GRANTS, STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS AND PUBLIC PROGRAMS. IT WORKS COLLABORATIVELY WITH GROUPS AND COMMUNITIES OF DIVERSE TYPES AND CAPACITIES TO FIND WAYS TO INCREASE THEIR COLLECTIVE REACH AND IMPACT, SUPPORT PUERTO RICO'S CULTURAL ECOSYSTEM, AND THE AUDIENCES IT SERVES. FPH'S SUBRECIPIENTS AND PARTNERS INCLUDE UNIVERSITIES, MUSEUMS, ARCHIVES, COMMUNITY LIBRARIES AND CENTERS, AND CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS OF ALL SIZES AND IN DIFFERENT STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT. THE SUBAWARDS PROGRAM SUPPORTS MERITORIOUS HUMANITIES-BASED PROJECTS AS WELL AS TRAINING AIMED AT CAPACITY BUILDING, EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS, AND COMPETITIVE DESIGN OF PROPOSALS. THE PROGRAMS OFFICE, WHICH CONDUCTS ALL FPH'S INITIATIVES, DIRECT SERVICES, AND PROGRAMS THAT SERVE THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND ALSO SUPPORT TEACHERS, SCHOOLS, COMMUNITY CENTERS/ LIBRARIES, FAMILIES, AND CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS. THIS OFFICE ALSO MANAGES OUR TWO DIGITAL HUMANITIES PROGRAMS: ENCICLOPEDIA DE PUERTO RICO (ENCICLOPEDIAPR.ORG), A FREE-ACCESS GENERAL EDUCATION AND REFERENCE WEBSITE (WITH AN AVERAGE OF 150,000 VISITS MONTHLY), AND COSECHA CULTURAL (COSECHACULTURAL.ORG), AN ONLINE DIGITAL REPOSITORY OF EBOOKS, AUDIOBOOKS, FILMS, PODCASTS, RADIO AND TELEVISION PROGRAMS, EITHER SPONSORED OR PRODUCED BY FPH. PROGRAMS ARE FUNDED BY A GENERAL OPERATING SUPPORT GRANT FROM THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES THROUGH ITS FEDERAL/STATE PARTNERSHIP OFFICE AND ALSO BY GRANTS FROM THE ANDREW MELLON FOUNDATION, FUNDACIN NGEL RAMOS, AND THE JOINT LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION FUND FOR COMMUNITY IMPACT.
