The California Association of Natural Family Planning (CANFP) promotes and supports the use of Natural Family Planning. The organizations desire is to unite users, providers, and advocates of all methods of Natural Family Planning, respecting differences in methodologies and focusing on common goals in a multi-cultural and non-sectarian context, working collaboratively to educate the large community on the benefits of Natural Family Planning. CANFP supports those interested in natural family planning, as well as those professionally involved, through educational programs and services, in person, electronically, and through social media. CANFP projects include: Produce and distribute by mail and exhibit outreach, as well as via website, quarterly editions of newsletter, CANFP NEWS. Provide exhibit educational outreach at events throughout the state. Provide information and consults via phone, email, website, social media, and exhibit outreach.Maintain primary website, canfp.org, adding content, and keeping Professional Directory up to date, for referral to local services.Provide monthly consults with statewide pro life and marriage and family ministry leadershipCreate and distribute educational resources, including booklets, CDS/DVDS, and pamphlets.Provide speakers on NFP and related topics for events and meetingsRespond to questions submitted via the website, by phone and email. In 2018, new resources and a major event was held, educating on, and promoting, the principles of the Catholic teaching on human sexuality as articulated in the encyclical Humanae Vitae, during the 50th anniversary year of the original release of the document, including:Launched a new website educating on, and promoting, the principles of the Catholic teaching on human sexuality as articulated in the encyclical Humanae Vitae, during the 50th anniversary year of the original release of the document.Produced a monthly news digest called Faithful to Gods Design, in English and Spanish, distributed primarily electronically, by email and through the new website, as well as through occasional mailings and exhibit handouts. Created two videos, a shorter and more expanded form, honoring the inspiring contributions of HV HeroesSolicited, and recorded, personal testimonies of lived experience, and distributed via website and social media, called MY HV STORY.Launched a new website, www.CelebrateHV50.com and www.CelebremosHV50.com as a resource for Humanae Vitae teachings, a hub for HV resources and blog on HV, and to facilitate registration for national conferenceSponsored national conference during week of the 50th anniversary of release of Humanae Vitae, including a one day preconference for Clergy only, and working with two other organizations to provide two other preconference to healthcare oriented attendees. Edited and made freely available over website, and public sites like You tube and itunes, recordings from the HV50 conference. Appeared on national TV and conducted radio interviews regarding our 2018 efforts promoting the teachings of Humanae Vitae.
