Move to Amend Education Fund Provides grants to Move to Amend to educate the general public, allied organizations, and affiliated grassroots movements about the history of democracy and corporations in the United States, the impact that the current state of democracy has on social movements to achieve their mission, and on solutions to end corporate constitutional rights and get money out of politics; to support and act in solidarity with organizations working on solutions that would be achievable with an end of corporate constitutional rights and money as speech; and to connect with other organizations dedicated to creating a diverse, independent, powerful and authentic democracy movement. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Granted funds to Move to Amend for the following activities: 1) production and distribution of approximately 45 national educational webinars and public forums, including structured multi-part series, monthly educational programs, standalone public briefings, 77 direct educational and outreach emails and 101 educational videos reels shared as social media. For example, a) National Educational Webinars and Forums which included the four-part series co-sponsored with Veterans for Peace to examine corporate power and global systems (Striking at the Roots of Imperialism); b) monthly series to analyze lessons from historic U.S. social movements (Cultural Change for the We the People Amendment); c) an educational analysis of election spending and democratic governance (Your Vote, Their Million $: Big Money and the NYC 2025 Mayoral Election); d) series of educational briefings that analyze current events through the lens of constitutional history and corporate governance (Corporate Coup Report; e) to host presentations on the constitutional amendment process and its relevance to current constitutional challenges with Madiba Dennie, attorney, professor and author of The Originalism Trap: How Extremists Stole the Constitution and How We the People Can Take It Back (Our Right and Duty to Create an Equitable Democracy & Constitution) and Wilfred Codrington III, constitutional law professor, (It Takes a Constitutional Amendment, Stupid). ***** 2) presentation at The 22nd Century Conference and Next Systems Studies: Forging a People-Powered Democracy, addressing constitutional history, democratic structure, and civic reform theory. ***** 3) expansion of civic education through the Movement Education Program (MEP) with a) new curriculum module in 2025 titled The Way Through: From Overwhelm, Burnout, Despair & Anger into Effective Action; and b) national workshops supporting sustainable civic participation; c) two volunteer education sessions training participants in constitutional literacy and grassroots organizing fundamentals. ***** 4) convene Monthly Environmental Education through the Ecology Network (Eco-Net). a) discussions exploring the relationship between corporate power and environmental crisis that featured climate and civic leaders including David Orr and Dr. Christopher Basaldú. b) to archived and distributed recordings for continued public learning. ***** 5) production of legal and constitutional education materials through the Law & Research Committee that analyze the development and impact of corporate constitutional rights and money as speech for distribution nationally for use by affiliates, scholars, students, and community leaders to strengthen public understanding of constitutional law and democratic governance. Major reports published in 2025 included: a) Democracy in the Gaps (May 2025); b) Artificial Intelligence, Free Speech, and Corporate Constitutional Rights (July 2025); c) Statements of U.S. Supreme Court Justices Against Corporate Constitutional Rights; and d) Statement Supporting Ending Corporate Constitutional Rights and Money as Free Speech as well as e) comparative analyses of proposed constitutional amendments, including side-by-side examinations of the We the People Amendment (H.J.Res. 54) and other federal proposals.***** 6) production and distribution of educational materials on labor and constitutional democracy through the Labor Caucus. Collaborate with organized labor to educate on the intersection of worker rights, economic justice, and constitutional democracy, as well as how corporate constitutional doctrines and money in politics influence labor policy, workplace protections, collective bargaining rights, and strike activity. a) to bring together labor organizers and community members to explore the historical relationship between labor activities, movements and constitutional governance, and to examine how structural economic power affects democratic participation at the Labor Day 2025 Rap Session and Take Action in Solidarity with Organized Workers. ***** 7) Participation in national public educational events. Engaged in public education at national events including No Kings Day, Hands Off / People's Veto Day, Good Trouble Lives On, May Day, Labor Day educational programming, and Constitution Day activities. Provided educational materials and presentations examining corporate constitutional rights, money in politics, labor history, and democratic governance. Delivered educational remarks at a national gathering in Washington, D.C. focused on money in politics, offering constitutional analysis and historical context related to corporate political influence and democratic accountability.***** 8) Strengthened affiliate and grassroots education networks by convening monthly Affiliate & Advocate Coalition Calls to provide civic education and grassroots capacity-building. Conducted nationwide educational outreach through Constitution Day programs, Earth Day events, public hearings, university presentations, and community forums. ***** 9) Produced and distributed ongoing national educational communications, such as, 77 regular educational newsletters, announcements, and issue briefings to a national email list, providing nonpartisan analysis of constitutional developments, Supreme Court decisions, election spending trends, labor developments, and civic participation processes. Connected current events to constitutional structure and democratic governance principles. ***** 10) Expanded digital civic education reach and increased digital educational engagement by generating 101 reels which grew our outreach to 8 million Facebook views and over 650,000 impressions, with demonstrative increase in engagement across multiple digital platforms.
