SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOLS PROGRAM: MCBC's Safe Routes to Schools program empowers thousands of Marin students and families to walk and bike safely through hands-on bicycle education, traffic-safety instruction, encouragement events, and family engagement. Working in partnership with public and private schools, we provide age-appropriate training, assemblies, workshops, rodeos, and volunteer-supported activities that build lifelong healthy transportation habits. Our team also surveys travel patterns, produces educational materials, and collaborates with local agencies to improve the safety of routes to and from school--helping reduce traffic, increase youth confidence, and make every trip to school safer and more joyful.

CORY'S RIDE: Cory's Ride removes barriers to cycling for Marin youth by providing bikes, gear, training, mentorship, and community-building experiences for students who otherwise lack access to safe, reliable transportation. Participants receive ongoing instruction, leadership development opportunities, and support to confidently ride to school, work, and activities. Centered around empowerment and equity, the program helps young people build independence, improve fitness, strengthen social connections, and open new pathways to education and opportunity. Cory's Ride reflects MCBC's belief that every young person deserves the freedom and benefits that bicycling can bring.

ROAD ADVOCACY PROGRAMS: MCBC leads Marin County's on-road bicycle advocacy by collaborating with local, regional, and state partners to advance safer street design, effective policies, and connected bikeway networks. We help agencies plan and implement bike/pedestrian projects, advise on master plans, and advocate for infrastructure that provides riders of all ages and abilities. Our team analyzes project proposals, mobilizes community input, and brings forward data-driven recommendations that improve intersections, corridors, and transit access. Through outreach, education, and public engagement, we champion a transportation system where choosing to bike is safer, easier, and more accessible for everyone.
