THIS BOLD INTERNATIONAL CO-PRODUCTION IS GROUNDED IN BLIND CULTURE, INSTIGATED BY JESS CURTIS, AND COLLABORATIVELY CREATED BY 6 CULTURALLY AND RACIALLY DIVERSE BLIND, LOW-VISION, AND SIGHTED PERFORMERS. ITD PREMIERED IN SAN FRANCISCO, NOV. 9 TO 19, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SAN FRANCISCO LIGHTHOUSE FOR THE BLIND SPECIFICALLY ENGAGING OUR RACIALLY, ETHNICALLY, AND PHYSICALLY DIVERSE CORE AUDIENCE, INCLUDING PEOPLE WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS; AND PEOPLE INTERESTED IN CULTURAL EQUITY.GRAVITY ACCESS SERVICES: PROVIDED ARTISTS AND ARTS ORGANIZATIONS A MULTITUDE OF ACCESS SERVICES, INCLUDING LIVE AND RECORDED AUDIO DESCRIPTION, PRE-SHOW HAPTIC ACCESS TOURS, ASL REFERRAL SERVICES, AND MORE. PARTNERED WITH SAN FRANCISCO LIGHTHOUSE FOR THE BLIND TO HOST A PANEL ON ACCESSIBILITY IN THE ARTS ON JUNE 5, 2023. WE PROVIDED AUDIO DESCRIPTION (AD) FOR 54 LIVE AND RECORDED PERFORMANCE EVENTS IN 2023. WE ALSO PROVIDED A RANGE OF DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONAL ACCESSIBILITY CONSULTATIONS TO LOCAL, REGIONAL AND NATIONAL ARTS ORGANIZATIONS INCLUDING THE OREGON SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL, CAL PERFORMANCES, COUNTERPULSE, AND SEVEN OTHERS. BEYOND GRAVITY ARTISTS SERVICES: OFFERS ARTISTIC MENTORSHIP, PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE, PRODUCTION SUPPORT, AND FISCAL SPONSORSHIP TO DIVERSE EMERGING ARTISTS. SINCE 2018 BG HAS PROVIDED FISCAL SPONSORSHIP FOR ARTISTS FROM UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES AND PRESENTED THEIR WORK, A MAJORITY IDENTIFYING AS BIPOC, QUEER, AND NON-BINARY.
