MID-DELTA ALSO DISTRIBUTES COMMODITIES PROVIDED BY THE USDA TO ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS.THROUGH THEIR LOW-INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (H.E.A.P.), THEY PROVIDE HEATING AND COOLING TO QUALIFIED PERSONS THROUGH A SUB-GRANT ADMINISTERED BY THE DIVISION OF ECONOMIC AND MEDICAL SERVICES OF THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES FOR THE FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES. THROUGH HEAD START, THEY PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH, EDUCATIONAL, NUTRITIONAL, SOCIAL, AND OTHER SERVICES TO ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED PRESCHOOL CHILDREN.THEY ALSO STRIVE TO IMPROVE PUBLIC TRANSPORTION IN NON-URBANIZED AREAS.THROUGH THEIR SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAM, THEY PROVIDE SERVICES TO BENEFIT PERSONS 60 YEARS OR OLDER.
