Fairfield Bay Library is privately owned and operated primarily by volunteers. We have one full time paid employee, the Library Director. The book inventory is about 18000 augmented with a substantial collection of CDs and DVDs and e-book availability. Monthly book checkouts and renewals average 1500 with movies and audio books about 350. E-book checkouts average about 500 per month. We currently have issued approximately 1000 permanent library cards and 1000 temporary cards. The monthly average number of patrons served is about 1000 adults and 300 children. While anyone is welcome to browse the library and use the free internet service, we do have a nominal charge for a library card to check out materials.
