St. Francis Animal Sanctuary has a fostering program in order to further its mission with limited resources. The organization has 24 acres; however there is limited space due to its no-kill mission. Foster families provide more capacity for SFAS allowing them to help more animals. Certain animals may need to be fostered for a variety of reasons, such as they are too young for adoption or in order to recover after a medical procedure. Foster families provide the love and stability these animal need to be happy and healthy, both mentally and physically. When an animal has been in a foster home, it is more confident and social; therefore, it is able to transition into its new home with ease.
