Friends of Pimpollo serves children in Southern Mexico, specifically in the states of Oaxaca and Chiapas with the primary focus of providing access to quality education.This year the Pimpollo Home for Children continued to provide essential care to 7 disabled orphans in Juchitan, Oaxaca to include housing, food and medical care.In the neighboring state of Chiapas, 13 students were enrolled in our Ecoser program, a program that provides room and board, mentorship and college scholarships to aspiring students. In 2019, we celebrated one graduation.Our Oaxaca Kids Can program is based just outside of Oaxaca City in the Vicente Guerrero community. Our community center is the hub to 18 elementary schools in the area providing support to teachers, families and the extended community. In 2019, 212 adults received their basic education certificates and dozens of adults took part in the adult literacy program. Meanwhile, over 1000 children are now enrolled in local schools. Three of these schools have feeding program which provided over 50,000 meals to students this year.
