PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: EFF MAINTAINS AND IMPROVES FIELDS AND OTHER FACILITIES ON LAND CONSISTING OF 28 ACRES THAT IT LEASES FOR $1/YEAR FROM THE UNITED STATES ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS.THE SPACE OF THE ABOVE FIELDS AND FACILITIES ARE LICENSED TO SEVEN DIFFERENT SPORTING ORGANIZATIONS (5 OF WHICH ARE 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS) FOR THEIR USE, FOUR CLUB BASEBALL TEAMS, AND ONE CLUB SOFTBALL TEAM. FIVE OF THE ORGANIZATIONS PROMOTE AND ORGANIZE YOUTH LEAGUES IN BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL; THE CLUB TEAMS USE FIELD SPACE FOR THEIR PRACTICES. ONE LICENSEE PROVIDES TRAINING FOR BICYCLE RACING. ADDITIONALLY, EACH ORGANIZATION HOSTS AND SUPPORTS SPECIAL EVENTS FOR ITS MEMBERS AND FOR THE COMMUNITY, SUCH AS SOFTBALL AND BASEBALL TOURNAMENTS. THE FIELDS WERE ALSO USED FOR YOUTH INSTRUCTION. APPROXIMATELY 2,000 PEOPLE PARTICIPATE IN THE VARIOUS ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS ORGANIZED BY THE LICENSEES.
