EDMOND MOBILE MEALS (EMM) IS KNOWN AS THE MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM FOR THE EDMOND COMMUNITY. CLIENTS ARE ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM BASED ONLY ON NEED. WE SERVE CLIENTS WITH CHRONIC HEALTH ISSUES, THOSE WHO CANNOT COOK OR SHOP FOR THEMSELVES, ISOLATED INDIVIDUALS AND THOSE RECOVERING FROM SURGERY, ACCIDENT, OR ILLNESS. OUR SERVICE ALLOWS SENIORS TO REMAIN LIVING INDEPENDENTLY IN THEIR OWN HOMES FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. WE ARE THE ONLY PROGRAM TO PROVIDE THIS SERVICE TO HOMEBOUND SENIORS IN EDMOND. IN 2024 WE SERVED OVER 89,000 MEALS AND SIGNED UP 314 NEW CLIENTS. EDMOND MOBILE MEALS DELIVERED AN AVERAGE OF 285 MEALS EACH WEEKDAY TO CLIENTS WHO RANGE IN AGE FROM 29 TO 99 YEARS OLD, REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY FOR THE SERVICE. NINETY-ONE PERCENT OF THE EMM RECIPIENTS ARE OVER AGE OF 65, WITH A MEDIAN AGE OF 79. NINETY PERCENT LIVE COMPLETELY ALONE. 100% OF OUR CLIENTS STATE THAT THE SERVICE WE PROVIDE ALLOWS THEM TO CONTINUE TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY IN THEIR OWN HOMES.
