Additionally, the teachers are asked to be creative as to educational activities that would help further the deaf students' education. These grants include funds for field trips and for classroom supplies. Once the specific requests receive approval from the Oklahoma School for the Deaf personnel, the monetary requests are submitted to the Foundation. These classroom grants affect approximate 100 students.

Student Enhancement Program - Many of the deaf students attending the Oklahoma School for the Deaf live on campus. Therefore, each school year, the Oklahoma Foundation for the Education of Deaf Children and Youth Inc looks for opportunites to assist the Oklahoma School for the Deaf administration in making the students feel they are a part of a 'deaf school family'. To accomplish this goal, the Foundation funds various activities that help the students build strong relationships with their peers and teachers. Additionally, through the Student Enhancement Program, the Foundation provides leadership awards to student leaders as well as scholarships to graduates who meet certain qualifications. Overall, approximatley 100 students are affected by the Student Enhancement Program.
