Slick Haley Awards:Dr. James "Slick" Haley, a former President of the Longmont Rotary Club, awarded student scholarships annually for 42 years. He was a humble, quiet and kind man and award recipients exhibit those same characteristics. He established the awards in 1952 to recognize individuals who have demonstrated academic and social achievement despite having been faced with difficult personal challenges. Each student was selected and nominated by his or her school counselor. The counselors focus on students who have succeeded academically and socially, and who have displayed outstanding citizenship. $1,000 each was awarded to:Oliver Glasser - Skyline High School, Alexis Nowak-Drake - New Meridian High School, Eva Portugal - Longmont High School, Adrian Brito - Silver Creek High School

Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley: Safe Shelter provides safety, support, and resources to individuals and communities affected by domestic, dating, and family violence; abuse in later life; and human trafficking. Safe Shelter used this grant to significantly improve the quality, comfort, and readiness of their emergency shelter. They purchased 49 sets of linens, 30 blankets, and 12 packs of pillows, allowing them to replace worn, stained, or damaged bedding that was no longer suitable for residents. These new supplies ensured that every bed in the shelter could be outfitted with clean, comfortable, and dignified bedding, directly enhancing the safety and wellbeing of the survivors and children who rely on the shelter for refuge.

TinkerMill is a volunteer-driven organization that provides space, equipment, and community, empowering people on the Front Range to make, learn, and grow. Vision: We envision an inclusive space in every community where people can come together to dream, experiment, learn, and create. The funds from this grant will be used to provide instruction, equipment, and tools for program participants. The "STEM Skills Development for the Next Generation of Female Engineers" program is designed for eleventh and twelfth grade female high school students who will participate in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) focused classes at TinkerMill's facilities.
