CASA (COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES) OF TRAVIS COUNTY SPEAKS UP FOR CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN ABUSED OR NEGLECTED BY EMPOWERING OUR COMMUNITY TO VOLUNTEER AS ADVOCATES FOR THEM IN THE COURT SYSTEM. WHEN THE STATE STEPS IN TO PROTECT A CHILD'S SAFETY, A JUDGE APPOINTS A TRAINED CASA VOLUNTEER TO MAKE INDEPENDENT AND INFORMED RECOMMENDATIONS IN THE CHILD'S BEST INTEREST. IN 2025, CASA SERVED 982 CHILDREN IN THE COURT SYSTEM DUE TO ABUSE OR NEGLECT IN THEIR HOMES. CASA SUPPORTED A TOTAL OF 560 ACTIVE VOLUNTEERS WHO SERVED CHILDREN DURING THE YEAR AND 90% OF CHILDREN WERE ASSIGNED A LONG-TERM VOLUNTEER.
