BWDD offers a variety of educational programs for the community. These include Masterclasses, BWDD Company Classes open to advanced dancers, Themed Pop-up Dance Classes, week-long Dance Intensives, the Bruce Wood Dance Excellence Awards, which recognize outstanding students, teachers, and pre-professional dancers with cash prizes, and WOOD/SHOP, a program that helps develop the next generation of North Texas choreographers by giving company dancers resources to create and present new work. BWDD also reaches underserved residents across the Dallas area through outreach programs that provide free movement classes, Dance for Parkinson's, and hundreds of complementary event tickets in partnership with nonprofit social service organizations.
