Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital ("THAM") is a 369 licensed bed Magnet-designated hospital. It serves the community as a Level III Trauma Center and has received Level III Maternal and NICU Subspecialty Care designations from the Texas Department of State Health Services. First opened in 1958, THAM is recognized by The Joint Commission as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, Advanced Acute Heart Attack Ready, and Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Knee Replacement. Additional key service lines include breast care, cancer care, orthopedics, women and infants, wound care and hyperbarics, and more. The breast center, accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, is undergoing an estimated $2 million renovation, expected to be completed in 2025. Further, the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer recognizes THAM as an Accredited Comprehensive Community Cancer Center. During 2024, THAM had 57,328 patient days, 12,685 discharges, 1,373 births, 103,601 outpatient encounters, and 73,171 emergency room visits during the year. THAM provides quality medical healthcare services regardless of the patient's race, creed, sex, national origin, handicap, age or ability to pay. THAM provides care to persons covered by governmental programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, for reimbursement that does not always cover the cost of providing the care.
