Baylor Scott & White Medical Centers - Greater North Texas dba Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - McKinney (BSW McKinney) is a faith-based, nonprofit, 192-bed acute care hospital providing exemplary patient care services to the growing community of McKinney, Texas and the surrounding areas since July 2012.BSW McKinney is affiliated with Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), a faith-based nationally acclaimed network of acute care hospitals and related health care entities providing quality patient care, medical education, medical research and other community services to the residents of North and Central Texas. As the largest not-for-profit health care system in Texas and one of the largest in the United States, BSWH was born from the 2013 combination of Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Healthcare. Today, BSWH has over 1,300 patient access points including 53 hospitals, 600+ specialty care clinics, 250+ outpatient clinics, 150+ primary care clinics, 29 pharmacies, 30+ ambulatory surgery centers, 60+ urgent care clinics, and over 7,300 active physicians. The system also includes a state certified health maintenance organization, the Scott and White Health Plan and the Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance accountable care organization both covering approximately 1,200,000 lives.BSW McKinney is a fully-accredited hospital providing a broad spectrum of health care services including emergency care with Advanced Level II Trauma, cancer treatment accredited by the Commission on Cancer, orthopedics, neurosciences, primary care, surgical services including robot-assisted and minimally invasive surgery, women's services including a Level III Maternal Care Center and a Level III Neonatal ICU with private suites. The hospital has received numerous recognitions, accolades and accreditations including Magnet designation for nursing excellence.During the fiscal year, BSW McKinney admitted 12,474 patients resulting in 57,134 days of care; delivered 2,602 babies and received 49,169 emergency department visits. BSW McKinney provided community benefits (as reported to the Texas Department of State Health Services and in accordance with the State of Texas Statutory methodology) of $63,503,052 and provided community benefits (as reported on the IRS Form 990, Schedule H) of $19,711,559 during the tax year. The Texas Annual Statement of Community Benefit Standard includes approximately $43,427,224 of unreimbursed cost of Medicare that is not included in the IRS Form 990, Schedule H.See Schedule H for more information regarding these services and how BSW McKinney promotes the health of the communities.
