According to the Texas Annual Report and Data Book from the Department of Family and Protective Services, Tarrant County had the 3rd highest number of confirmed cases of child abuse in the state. Our volunteers served a total of 820 abused and neglected children in Tarrant County foster care. Of the 820 children served, 45% were under the age of five and represented every race, ethnicity and socio-economic status.
