Wings of Hope provides equine assisted services designed to improve the physical cognitive emotional and social well-being of children and adults with a disability challenge or any type of special need. Through structured therapeutic horsemanship clients partner with a horse to build strength communication skills confidence and independence in a supportive and inclusive environment. Our mission provides a welcoming environment where individuals are not defined or limited by a diagnosis. Clients are encouraged to explore their abilities build confidence and experience success in ways that may not have been achieved in traditional settings. For many families Wings of Hope is a place where their loved one is truly seen and valued. Programs provide opportunities for participants to flourish while offering families the joy of witnessing growth confidence and independence. During the fiscal year Wings of Hope delivered 1,471 therapeutic lessons including 1,229 mounted lessons and 242 ground based lessons. Lessons incorporate mounted and unmounted ground based activities tailored to each participants abilities and therapeutic objectives. Programs are led by trained instructors and supported by dedicated volunteers and specially trained horses that are integral partners in the therapeutic process. Activities focus on developing functional life skills fostering social and emotional growth while improving physical and cognitive abilities. To ensure accessibility for families in need Wings of Hope provided $73,752 in financial aid during the year helping remove financial barriers and allowing participants to access affordable consistent therapeutic services. In our 30th year of operation Wings of Hope continues to expand access to life changing equine assisted services while strengthening community awareness and support for individuals with disabilities.
