The urban farming program exists to provide farm fresh produce and a sustainable model to provide employment for the unemployable or underemployed providing education and trining, empowerment and building self worth while benefiting a community plagued with food insecurity and food deserts. The long term goal is to use farm in the area to help previously incarcerated returning citizen who have worked in the Texas penal system farms to have jobs and traing based on their recent experience.
