YOUTH GYM CENTER- Opened in March 2006. The Youth Center offers youths, age 8 to 18 a safe environment to learn, play and study. Some of the programs offered at the AVPAL youth center include tutoring and music instruction. The Youth Center also has PS3 and W ii gaming systems, air hockey, ping pong, and billiard tables. Also available are standard board games and internet. Other activities include trips to movies, amusement parts, beach, and bowling. On average 20-25 kids participated Monday- Friday between 4:00pm and 7:00pm.

JUVENILE INTERVENTION PROGRAM (S.H.O.C.K.): The S.H.O.C.K. program is an ten week juvenile intervention program for youth between the ages of thirteen and seventeen to help at-risk youth/parents to learn that they have options. The S.H.O.C.K.program was designed to combat the negative influences facing todays youth in society. These influences include, drugs, gangs, teenage pregnancy, communication issues with peers and parents, and self-respect. The program is a cooperative effort among several different public safety entities within the County of San Bernardino. The AVPAL has successfully completed 18 S.H.O.C.K. classes. S.H.O.C.K. meets Monday's, Wednesdays and Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tutoring for S.H.O.C.K. students is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
