Mission

THROUGH A MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF DALLAS, DALLAS COUNTY HERITAGE SOCIETY MANAGED OLD CITY PARK, DALLAS OLDEST PARK, UNTIL MAY 26, 2024. UNTIL THAT DATE, DALLAS COUNTY HERITAGE SOCIETY (DCHS)/ OLD CITY PARK'S MISSION WAS TO PROVIDE A RECREATIONAL SPACE WHERE VISITORS CAN CONNECT WITH THE PAST, INSPIRE THE FUTURE, AND CELEBRATE DALLAS'S RICH DIVERSITY IN DALLAS'S FIRST AND OLDEST PUBLIC PARK. EFFECTIVE MAY 27, 2024, THE MISSION OF DCHS CHANGED TO THE FOLLOWING: THE MISSION OF DALLAS COUNTY HERITAGE SOCIETY DBA OLD CITY PARK CONSERVANCY IS TO ADVOCATE FOR AND PROVIDE SUPPORT TO OLD CITY PARK SO THAT VISITORS CAN CONNECT WITH THE PAST, INSPIRE THE FUTURE, AND CELEBRATE DALLAS'S RICH DIVERSITY IN DALLAS'S FIRST AND OLDEST PUBLIC PARK. THIS CHANGE TOOK PLACE BECAUSE DCHS NO LONGER MANAGES OLD CITY PARK BUT WISHES TO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE PARK THROUGH FINANCIAL AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT.
