THE HARRIS COUNTY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COORDINATING COUNCIL (HCDVCC) STRENGTHENS AND ALIGNS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES AND SYSTEMS BY IMPROVING COMMUNICATION ACROSS DISCIPLINES AND DEVELOPING FORMAL RELATIONSHIPS AND PROCESSES THAT CLOSE GAPS TO SERVICE. HCDVCC SERVES AS A FACILITATOR, INTERMEDIARY, FUNDER, AND CONVENER TO THE BROADER MACRO LEVEL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RESPONSE SYSTEMS. THESE PROCESSES AIM TO ENHANCE VICTIM SAFETY, INCREASE ACCESS TO SERVICES, HOLD PERPETRATORS ACCOUNTABLE, AND PREVENT FUTURE INCIDENTS OF VIOLENCE. HCDVCC FOCUSES ON REDUCING BARRIERS TO SUPPORT AND ADVANCING POSITIVE SOLUTIONS WITHIN FIVE KEY SYSTEMS: LAW ENFORCEMENT, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICE PROVIDERS, THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM, MEDICAL SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND ADULT AND CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES. THE COUNCIL'S WORK IS GROUNDED IN COLLABORATION - BRINGING TOGETHER AGENCIES, ORGANIZATIONS, AND SYSTEMS COMMITTED TO IMPROVING THE RESPONSE TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ACROSS HARRIS COUNTY. 199 FAMILIES WERE SERVED.
