Two historic sites owned by RBHYates Museum was awarded Sites of Memory associated to the UNESCO-Slave Route in March 2019. In 2022, under the direction of the Research Historian, and the Archaeologist/Curator, several paid university archaeology student interns, new archaeology reports were added to several of the original 74 UNESCO nominations under consideration. The properties are within the National Register Historic District of Freedmens Town & the related sites from Texas to Mexico.
