Returning to positive life pathways has two components. At-risk youth from one behavioral group home come to learn about horse care as well as ride. Their goal is to take life lessons learned with horses and adjust their own thinking so that they can pursue positive life pathways. Youth in this group home are not necessarily from our part of Texas. The boys group home listed in 2024 acquired their own in-house therapeutic riding program. One of their youth graduated back to family and now comes as part of our weekday Mosaic program. The girls group home (still with us) continues to guide their youth toward positive outcomes. Adjudicated youth assist with facility maintenance. This year 1 such student gave 10.5 hours weeding, picking up litter and/or manure, and washing fence. Adjudicated youth leave understanding that doing the right thing is a better choice in life. Success rate for these students stands at approximately 95% choosing to stay in school and complete their education.
