Mission

Since 2000, Heaven on Earth has saved the lives of thousands of cats and kittens by rescuing them from overcrowded Los Angeles area shelters and directly from the streets. We also save lives by supporting pet owners with low-cost spay/neuter and other medical services at the Heaven on Earth Veterinary Clinic. And, we help the community by facilitating the spay/neuter of community and owned cats through our Spay Ship transportation program. Our work saves lives, builds loving families, and supports local communities. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March of 2020, Heaven on Earth made several significant changes to our life-saving programs and fundraising methodologies to continue to save the lives of cats and kittens in LA, ensure all of our staff remained employed, and raise critical funds to continue to be financially viable. As a result of the pandemic, local area animal shelters were forced to either drastically limit services or close altogether. This left members of the public w

Heaven on Earth Society for Animals is a nonprofit organization that exists to transform the lives of homeless cats through rescue, sanctuary, and new beginnings. We do this by pulling kitties from City and County shelters in and around the Los Angeles area, providing medical care so that they can be healthy again before being adopted out or living out their lives at our North Hollywood sanctuary, Perrys Place. Additionally, we operate the SpayShip Transport Program and the Heaven on Earth Animal Clinic in Chatsworth. At Perrys Place, we provide on-site veterinary care to cats and kittens with medical conditions, momma cats with litters, and underaged kittens. Our medical team of veterinarians, trained staff, and volunteers treat cats and kittens in separate isolation areas including wards designated for maternity, treatment of ringworm, and treatment of panleukopenia. Medical protocols for all cats and kittens are overseen by our staff veterinarians and are adhered to by our professional caretaking staff. Healthy cats and kittens are made available for adoption at Perrys Place, our 5,500 square foot adoption center and sanctuary in North Hollywood, via several local area PetSmart Stores, and through our foster-to-adopt program. Our foster-to-adopt program provides flexibility for those considering adopting but want to ensure the best match. Our foster-hospice program allows our elderly and chronically ill cats to live out their lives with a loving family with cost to the foster-hospice family. Our SpayShip Transport Program helps communities by assisting caregivers with the spay/neuter of community and owned cats. This free service provides transport for surgery and educates the public about caring for community cats. In 2021, we facilitated the spay/neuter of 1,130 cats through this program, a 51% increase over 2020. The program is on course to reach 10,000 community cats spayed/neutered since the program since inception in early 2022.Heaven on Earth operates a veterinary clinic at the West Valley Animal Shelter in collaboration with Los Angeles Animal Services, where we are contracted to alter adoptable shelter animals. We also support local communities by providing no or low-cost spay/neuter services to owned animals through the Citys voucher program and low-cost services to the public including wellness and vaccine clinics. We assist other LA area dog and cat rescue organizations by providing discounted services to animals in their care. The clinic experienced its best year yet in 2021 with over 3,500 dog and cat spay/neuters, a 33% increase.
