THE FOOD BANK PROVIDES FOOD ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS IN THE FORM OF EMERGENCY FOOD BOXES CONTAINING A WEEK'S WORTH OF FOOD. FOOD IS ALSO PROVIDED TO VARIOUS AGENCIES SUCH AS FOSTER GROUP HOMES, HOMELESS SHELTERS, YOUTH GROUPS, WOMEN'S SHELTERS AND SMALL FOOD PANTRIES. UP TO HALF OF THE FOOD PROVIDED GOES TO SENIOR CITIZENS, WHO HAVE A SPECIFIED DAY TO PICK UP FOOD. FOR HOLIDAYS, EXTRA FOOD IS DISTRIBUTED TO ENSURE FAMILIES HAVE A SPECIAL MEAL TO CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS. GIFT BAGS AND TOYS ARE PROVIDED DURING THE HOLIDAYS TO FAMILIES AND SENIORS RAISING CHILDREN. NEARLY 6 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD WAS COLLECTED AND DISTRIBUTED DURING THE YEAR.
