Continuing to respond to the unprecedented ongoing economic challenges faced by those served by the Muslim Womens Institute for Research and Development MWIRD operations at the Community Food Pantry at Highbridge CFPH is proud to have continued in 2023 during the lingering period of economic downturn to ensure that New Yorkers, with reduced income and resources, in need of food continue to have a steady supply. Our long-time partners, Food Bank for New York City, City Harvest and Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies, Islamic Relief, USA along with The NYC Mayors Office of Immigrant Affairs, Office of the Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, New York State Assembly member Landon C. Dais, and NYC City Council Member Althea Stevens, were all instrumental in providing additional resources for food.
