With the assistance of staff, administration and volunteers, we were successful in assisting approximately 320 students with disabilities during our VR Summer Program. While partnering with organizations such as Palm Beach, Broward and Polk County School District Staff, we were able to establish well-grounded programs that prepared students for post-secondary schooling, work readiness techniques, self awareness and self advocacy training necessary for gaining and maintaining paid employment. In several of our training programs the students were integrated into various communities and business organizations to allow close and personal experiences with supervisors, managers and HR staff discussing their job expectation and requirements in becoming a potentially hired candidate in their business. Miami International Airport(TSA) along with Miami Dade and Broward County Fire Rescue Departments assistance in safety training and rescue methods were a few exciting events experienced by the students. College tours and Technical Training Centers provided students with expectations fot further educations and pursue dreams wihil also displaying the chance to research higher Learning potentials available. The 2018 summer program experience was a huge success for each student as well as the organization. We are looking forward to our 2019 year of upcoming scheduled training programs.
