IN 2025, THE UTAH TIBETAN ASSOCIATION REMAINED COMMITTED TO PRESERVING AND PROMOTING TIBETAN CULTURE THROUGH A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL, AND COMMUNITY EVENTS. KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEAR INCLUDE: - WEEKLY SUNDAY CLASSES: ONGOING THROUGHOUT THE YEAR FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH AGES 5 TO 18, FOCUSING ON TIBETAN WRITING, LANGUAGE, AND CULTURE. THESE CLASSES INVOLVE ABOUT 20 CHILDREN EACH WEEK, WITH VOLUNTEER SUPPORT FROM 5 DEDICATED COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO CONSISTENTLY ASSIST IN TEACHING AND ORGANIZING THE CLASSES. - TIBETAN NEW YEAR (LOSAR) CELEBRATION: HELD IN FEBRUARY, MARKING THE YEAR OF THE SNAKE WITH TRADITIONAL PRAYERS AND CULTURAL PERFORMANCES, ATTENDED BY OVER 200 COMMUNITY MEMBERS. THE EVENT SAW A STRONG VOLUNTEER TURNOUT, WITH MORE THAN 20 VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTING TO THE SETUP, DECORATIONS, AND EVENT COORDINATION. - MARCH 10TH - 66TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 1959 TIBETAN UPRISING: THE COMMUNITY PARTICIPATED IN A MARCH FROM THE FEDERAL BUILDING TO THE STATE CAPITOL TO COMMEMORATE THIS HISTORIC EVENT, SYMBOLIZING TIBETAN RESISTANCE AGAINST CHINESE OCCUPATION. MORE THAN 15 VOLUNTEERS HELPED ORGANIZE THE MARCH, ASSISTED WITH LOGISTICS, AND PROVIDED SUPPORT ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT. - UTAH LIVING TRADITIONS FESTIVAL (MAY 15-17): THE ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATED IN THIS ANNUAL FESTIVAL, SHOWCASING TIBETAN DANCE, MUSIC, AND FOOD. OVER 30 VOLUNTEERS WORKED TIRELESSLY TO ORGANIZE THE EVENT, MANAGE FOOD STALLS, AND FACILITATE CULTURAL PERFORMANCES. - ASIAN FESTIVAL (JUNE 7TH): WE SET UP A CULTURAL BOOTH, DRAWING HUNDREDS OF ATTENDEES INTERESTED IN TIBETAN HISTORY AND CULTURE. A DEDICATED GROUP OF 10 VOLUNTEERS HELPED MAN THE BOOTH, ENGAGE WITH VISITORS, AND PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT TIBETAN HERITAGE. - WEST COAST PICNIC (JULY 4-7): TIBETANS FROM ACROSS THE WEST CO1AST GATHERED TO CELEBRATE HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA'S BIRTHDAY AND STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY BONDS. OVER 30 VOLUNTEERS HELPED WITH LOGISTICS, FOOD, AND ACTIVITIES, CONTRIBUTING TO THE SUCCESS OF THE EVENT.
