Hug Me Tight cared for an average of 45-60 at risk children per month for fiscal year end June 30, 2023. Care continued at the highest levels to include educational activities, nutritious meals, and partnerships with community resources focusing on improving quality of life for children and families associated with Hug Me Tight programming. With an ongoing focus on developing language and literacy growth, cognitive/problem solving skills, and pro-social/emotional abilities, programming provided by Jumpstart sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh, the Carnegie Library, and Reading is Fundamental enhanced developmental potential of children enrolled at the Center. Implementations of a program designed and sponsored by Carlow University provided staff the opportunity to enhance professional development as early childhood practitioners to earn college credit toward an academic degree.
