The traditional Latvian cultural performances that make up the core of the XIV Latvian Song and Dance Festival are the Folk Dancing Show, New Choreography Contest, Festival Choir Concert, and Sacred Music Concert. These performances have long been a part of the American Latvian festival tradition, and usually take place during every festival (which is usually held every 5 years, each time in a different city and coordinated by a different organizing committee). Although not considered essential components of the festival, the Latvian Chamber Music Concert, the guest choir concert and the Latvian theater performances help to bring in additional income to subsidize the core events, and provide a glimpse into the historical and contemporary performing arts repertoire that is enjoyed by Latvians in the U.S., as well as in Latvia.

These social events include a formal banquet and ball, an interactive and instructional folk dance event, a cabaret-style concert, a youth dance, and an evening cruise of the Baltimore Inner Harbor.

These events include the Art Exhibit, the Latvian Fashion and Folk Costume Exhibit, the Latvian Market, the Authors' Circle, film showings, and Children's Program.
